Thor firts appeared in "Journey Into Mystery #83".
He was the creation of Stan Lee, Jack Kirby and Larry Lieber.
His character is based on the Norse God of the same name..
"Journey Into Mystery was renamed" "The Mighty Thor" with issue #126 in March 1966
Thor is the son of Odin.
Thor is taught humility by his father by being placed into the body of
a young surgeon, Donald Blake, for a number of years, without any recollection of his former life.
He gradually rediscovers his past and learns to change into the Thunder God at will.
His main adversary is his own adopted brother Loki, who often tricks others (such as the Hulk and The Silver Surfer)
into fighting Thor on his behalf.
Thor is one of the founder members of the Avengers.
He has to eat the goden apples of Idun in order to remain immortal.
Thor has superhuman strength which rivals that of The Hulk.
He sees it as his duty to protect humans.
